I am rooting for the Cardinals for obvious enough reasons, but unless they can run the ball (which usually they can't), I think the Eagles are going to blitz them into oblivion and dominate them.

That works too. I just hate that asshole.
McNabb might be an idiot, a racist, and have skin as thin as a teenage girl - but I don't know that I'd call him an asshole.
racist? did i miss something?
That was in jest a little bit...but McNabb has made some race-inspired comments in the past. Such as during his TO feud, he referred to it as "black on black crime", or when he talked a couple of years ago about how much harder his life is because he's a black quarterback.

Could someone explain how "lines" work? I can never figure out what that stuff means.
The point spread - also called "the line" or "the spread" - is used as a margin to handicap the favorite team. For betting purposes, the oddsmaker predicts that the favored team will win by a certain number of points. This number of points is the point spread. The favorite is always indicated by a minus sign (e.g. -5.5) and the underdog by a plus sign (e.g.+5.5). If you bet on the favorite, you win your bet if the favorite wins AND their margin of victory is greater than the point spread. If you bet on the underdog, you win if the underdog wins, ties, or if the favored team wins but fails to exceed the point spread. It is standard for point spread bets in most sports that you wager $110 to win $100.

I don't know what the lines are, so I'm making these up, but theoretically...
Eagles -7
Cardinals +7
That would mean that the Eagles need to win by 7 to "win", or to cover the spread. So if the final score is Eagles 35, Cardinals 30, and you bet on the Eagles - you lose.
I don't think Baltimore has a chance. Philly and Arizona will be pretty close. I'm tired of hearing about the 'resurgence' of arizona's running game. It's all a bunch of bull.
I think Pittsburgh has a pretty easy road to the Lombardi trophy, about as easy as it gets in Pro football anyways. If Pittsburgh does win it all that'll be 3 out of the 4 past years I've picked the superbowl winner before the season - Last year I picked the Patriots to win it all before the season...was so close

After being pretty much the worst running team in football, they put up 145 yards on the road against Carolina last week. That's pretty good.
As of right now, 10 peeps have chosen the Cardinals to win. Ok.
If any one of you wish to make some easy money on your choice, I'll give you one and a half to one odds, minimum $100 to take me for $150 of my green . . . Eagles green.
Real men bet the game.
Pm me. You know you want to.
