Intel Smart Connect causing freeze/hang with no BSOD?
Hey there, since the 21st my rig started to hang/freeze out of nowhere. No BSOD, nothing. Keyboard and mouse doesn't respond. I have sleep mode turned OFF as well as the screen saver in Win7. The only thing I changed on the 21st is that I turned OFF the hard drives sleep mode instead of the default 30 minutes. So the problem occurs mostly when I simply close my LCD and come back after a while, power on my LCD and nothing.
Only a hard reboot works.
After rebooting it shows this in the Event log, which seems to be the culprit:
CISCTPnpDriverApi::CreateInstance *****Unable to open the ISCT device driver
Looks like something to do with Intel Smart Connect.
Before finding that I did:
- Underclocked everything to stock speeds
- Update de BIOS to the latest version
Now what I did:
- Reactivate the hard drives sleep mode default value of 20 minutes
- Uninstalled Intel Smart Connect
- Disabled Intel Smart Connect and Rapid Start in the BIOS
Now trying to provoke the problem and i'll see how it goes. I'll report back if it works, maybe it'll help some with similar issues...
Any of you heard of some kind of conflicts between ISC+Sleep mode of HDDs?
