Default how do people in wheelchairs fly on planes?

1) how do they get to their seat through the narrow aisle?
2) once seated and the plane has taken off, how do they use the restroom if they need to go?

They get on the plane first. They get help and special seats. They have airline wheelchairs.

From what I've seen, it's largely a matter of preparation. Informing the airlines of the disability, booking aisle seats, requesting assistance, eating and drinking less pre-flight, etc...

You should get out of the basement and see the world more.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone IN a wheelchair ON a plane. Every time I see handicapped people flying, they are IN the plane, and OUT of their wheelchairs.

They don't bring the chair with them, because it's a metal object. They have to stand up and walk like everybody else.

People on wheelchairs board the airplane first and brought by an airline employee near the entrance door. They are asked if they can walk on their own to the seat, if not they are wheeled to the seat of their choice (usually in front) or escorted.
Same situation when they need to use the restroom, they are escorted to the door if unable to move on their own/have a difficulty moving. Reverse scenario when they arrive at their destination, a wheelchair will be waiting for them with an escort near the exit/entrance door.

You never see them, because they are strapped to the underside of the Wings.

Just like having a window seat on both sides of the plane at the same time

With one of those life-sized blue placards around their neck, of course.

haha no just kidding, but seriously getting through security must be tough. After all, what's to prevent the terrrists from using wheelchairs? Never Forget... to take my pills!

You know, you'd think that somewhere out there, there would be some paraplegic who wanted to be a stuntman and ride on the wing of a biplane in his wheelchair.

Well, if they've done it, there isn't a video posted online.

the added weight at the wing section might make for a tricky take-of. IDK if a pilot would risk an accident that might cause loss of life in a stunt like that, bye-bye- FAA licence..

My wife is in a wheelchair, after reading some of the comments from this thread like the one above I'm ashamed I'm a member of this board. I hope all of you never know this limitation but to degrade someone who does because they get on a plane first is disgusting display, look in the mirror and know the face of a total inconsiderate asshole..

I know someone in a wheel chair and yeah they used to always give him trouble, they removed all the caps on the wheelchair tubes to look for dynamite LOL.

I dunno about the takeoff problems, it wouldn't be hard to compensate for that. Remember that in the barnstormer days, people would play tennis on those wings. Just give it a bit more aileron and call it good...

Yea, AFTER it was airborne, loading one wing cannot be safe for takeoff.
