Default USB KB/Mouse over KVM w/ Ubuntu?

Hi All,

I recently picked up an IOGear kvm switch and am working to diagnose issues I've had with my little zotac/amd mITX system. I installed Ubuntu on it and I've found the mouse functionality is basically nonexistent.

While I can move the mouse curser around no problem, I can't click on anything reliably: I can't open new programs from the app bar, can't close windows, can't switch between open apps on screen by clicking on them, and can't even click confirmation boxes or get to the power menu to shutdown.

If I click on something, it may open eventually after 5 minutes, and there are short periods where I can hover over icons and dialog box buttons to see its registering the presence of the mouse cursor. I'm guessing the delay is due to some polling setting and interference by the kvm.

Anybody else had similar issues with Linux and kvm switches? Anybody have any ideas to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance,
Trevor

Does the USB mouse work properly it's directly connected to the Linux box?

I had to add some configuration lines to my xorg.conf file and it seems to be working normally when connected directly to the PC. Next step is to retest it connected to the kvm.
