Default Romney spokesperson endorses Obamacare

The Romney camp in an attempt to defend ad where someone claimed Romney cancelled his healthcare and didn't care, said if he had healthcare in Massachusetts he would have been fine. Remember Romney said his Mass plan should be a model for the nation

Quote:
Mitt Romney spokesperson Andrea Saul appeared on Fox News Wednesday morning to criticize a controversial Priorities USA ad, which implies that the former Bain Capital executive is to blame for a womanís death after her husband was laid off by the company. But in absolving Romney of responsibility, Saul awkwardly embraced the individual mandate and other provisions in the Massachusetts health care law that Romney has pledged to repeal for the nation as part of his attack on Obamacare.

Before anyone accuses me of title malpractice I defer to the creator of healthcare reform in both Massaschusetts and at the federal level

Quote:
The problem for Romney is that there are no fundamental differences between the two laws. Both programs create exchanges where private insurers compete. Both require individuals to purchase insurance. And both subsidize those who canít afford it. Itís a relatively new way of extending coverage. Massachusetts was the first place it was adopted, and the Affordable Care Act was the second. The two laws are, in the words of Jonathan Gruber, who helped design both the Romney and Obama plans, ďthe same fucking bill.Ē

No fundamental difference? Really? Let's try a couple of couplets.

You get a notice from the federal government that you've been drafted.
You get a notice from your county government that you've been drafted.

Your wife withdraws $1,000 from your checking account.
Your councilman withdraws $1,000 from your checking account.

The President of the United States declares war on Russia.
The mayor of your city declares war on Russia.

The level at which something is done IS a fundamental difference.

Health insurance has long been regulated by the federal government and nobody batted an eye. They regulate a lot of industries.

So it's more you get a notice from the county to move your car.

The councilman votes to raise your taxes $200.

The mayor of your city establishes a sister city relationship in Russia.

You're absolutely right, degrees make all the difference.

I'm shocked Romney spends money on this stuff.
What a waste of resources i.e. his time.
But hey... I never donated to this lost cause.
