What's up with Flatout 3? A 23 on Metacritic?

Yeah, it is bad and the patches some how have made it worse since they seem to be put out untested and make the game not even playable.
I suggest if you want a Flaout, just get Ultimate Carnage, that is a good fun game.

If you're going to pick up one of these, get Flatout: Ultimate Carnage. It's the last good Flatout game ever made - basically an HD remake of Flatout 2 - and it's ridiculously, almost criminally fun to play. The car deformation and destruction physics are still the best out of any other game I've played.
Flatout 3 sucks because it wasn't made by the original Flatout developers. It's shovelware. Don't buy it.
If some AT members wanna pick up Flatout: UC so we can have another demolition derby night, that would be awesome. I would LOVE some people to play with.

Has anyone tried Symphony?

Looks cool, just can't tell if the concept works.

I think the game has to be easier in co-op as well. I've always played by myself, and you only get two lives. In co-op, you can resurrect the other player.

I got Binary Domain from the Amazon sale last month for $9.99, and I still haven't gotten around to it. I really need to play it because I keep hearing good things about it.
FWIU, they patched all the issues that plagued it at launch so the keyboard + mouse controls work properly now.
The game also features a voice command system that uses voice recognition from your microphone. It's definitely pretty wonky (from the little that I played), but after tweaking my mic settings I managed to make it work pretty well. It's neat to be able to say stuff out loud and have your squad mates respond to you.

i had ALL the issues trying to communicate with my partners through mic...i ended up answering "yes" "no" most of the time... like....
companion: "how are you man?"
me: "yes"
companion: "cool!" (increased affinity)
i thought it could be my ugly english pronunciation...but yesterday i watched a stream of a guy playing it and he had the same issues as me and he talked english quite better than me haha

Yeah, if I speak in anything other than a crystal-clear news-broadcaster voice, it fouls up. Same thing if I make any noises with my mouse or keyboard that aren't intended to be commands.
Fortunately you can skip the voice thing altogether and just use button commands.

Kaotik, if you could put one final post at the end of each of these threads announcing that you are switching to a new thread, it would be really helpful. I usually just view my subscribed threads so I don't realize when this thread has cycled into a new one.
Thanks for maintaining these!

how do the guns in binary domain work out? Is the story/environment good?
This looks like a non-retarded mass effect.

This daily is apparently because of another game from the same studio, 'Iron Brigade', that went on steam today, I hadn't heard of it. It's 20% off for $11.99.
