you're twisting my word, now. You are saying that if Top is THAT good, it should cost a lot more (funny people actually complain that it costs too little), when what I had said was that both ASUS 670's are excellent deals, given the quality components, and that the cost premium of Top over Reg is minimal, and therefor, there shouldn't even be any reason to get a Reg over a Top, just to save $10, if availability is not an issue.

Eh, there is an article on the TOP process and it didn't seem all that impressive to me, but to each their own.
I saw a video of someone clocking his regular DCII to 1250, I would think both cards are fantastic. There is a tendency on these forums to perceive one thing as "the best" and everything else as complete crap. With that cooler, I'd say it's a safe bet any ASUS 670 will hit 1200 mhz.

i would not go that far to call everything else crap, i would think it a bit unfair to compare the base 399 model (with stock pcb and cooler) with the more expensive ones. it all depends on what a person wants to pay. the gigabyte model that is 399 is a really good value too. some could argue it is better in some ways compared to the asus one. but with that being said, asus was the only model to get a perfect score here http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/A..._Cu_II/33.html (how much that is valued by someone is their own personal opinion).
i went ahead and spent the extra $10 on the top version just for a peace or mind that it would be guaranteed to o/c by that much. i figure the $10 was a small price to pay for it if i had not gotten the asus, i certainly would have picked up the gigabyte windforce.

Both still in stock at Newegg as of this morning. Trying to convince myself that I don't need this and that I should keep running my OC'ed Asus 570 DCII...but this thing is 2 slots and my 570 is 3, so it's REALLY tempting to sell the 570 and grab at least one 670TOP. Must...resist...temptation...

Amazon finally shipped my TOP at 6am this morning. Can't believe they waited a week before they shipped... ...Guess they didn't even have them in stock when they sold one to me? Never had this issue with them before.
