Hmm and what about temperature in Intel burn test at 4.8Ghz ?
IMO it's quite important.

No clue, how credible this source is, but clearly, Ivy Bridge is a "hot" running chip.

Tweaktown is a very credible (and old) website.
Their findings where on an ES chip though. Time will tell if the retail chips will perform any better.
So far I find the OCed 3570 temps quite resonable though.
If the hyperthreaded Ivy gets too hot, I'll just go for the 3570 anyway.

It does it on LN2, what?
I'd wait to see more samples, and people pushing 1.4v or more, Intel offers overclocking protection it's time someone actually took advantage of it.
1.5v F@H for one month please.

was that any time recent?
I made a guesstimate several months back of around 5.2-5.3 with highest end air and closed loop water (but that most everyone should be able to hit 4.8-5) and with golden chips doing no more than 5.5 but requiring water to even consider 24/7
that was based merely on extrapolating from average high end overclocks from previous generations, albeit without considering any kinks in the road with things like tri-gate

I think I will just wait for the official results because I am not feeling warm and fuzzy about this right now.

I forget what thread it was. It was a few months back about IB vs SB-E.

Actually, there have been some pretty significant findings... PCIe 3 makes a significant difference in at least some circumstances.

Yea sure, with quad SLI on a PCI-E 3.0 card at very high resolutions it will have an impact as bandwidth really matters.
For the average enthusiast with 2-way SLI and "normal" resolutions 1080p, the difference will be negligible so this is not a compelling reason to move to an ivybridge by itself.

Yep, thats why I will wait when the real reviews come out. I am not that eager to know anyways.

What about PCI-E SSD drives, there`s a review of the Intel SSD 910 on the front page at this moment.

Going to work.
Looks like my chip may be like the Tweaktown sample - a lower overclocker.
Finished building at 3am last night and had to go to bed by 4 since working today.
So far at 1.35v 4.8ghz is hard to achieve without crashing,
Will test more later today when I get home from work...

I would not be so sure about that. The difference is smaller, but definitely not negligible (this is at 3x 1080p resolutions)

Well according to this guy, the difference is substantial and he has proof.

Maybe Intel sent him an NDA to sign and a million dollars to keep his mouth shut.
