Default VU Meter,,, Graphic Eq. Display to monitor music.

I like to listen to internet radio,, mostly AOL radio. I would like to get a software version of vu-meters or dual ch. graphic eq. that will show levels, etc. as the music is playing. I have tried a few but they didn't work when listening to the music as it played.
Does anyone have any suggestions for meters that will work while listening to the interner radio stations, etc?

If you play the stream with foobar2000, such visualisations will be available to you.
