Samsung's bezel-less phone, the Galaxy B, to debut at MWC?

Well, it looks like that could soon be changing with Samsung rumored to be ushering-in the era of non-existent bezels with their rumored Galaxy B smartphone. Samsung has long been one of the Android OEM’s to feature a great screen-to-bezel ratio and it seems they may have finally figured out how to go all-screen.

Didn't think that ICS would be able to pull off the button-less design, but they did it very well. Looks slick.
Engage Apple patent suit for . . . patents on . . urrm, borders around a touch screen. Yes, that sounds plausible.

Whoa that's slick if real. I wonder how practical it is though.

What's going to protect the screen from nicks on the sides?

Looks pretty damn slick.
I don't really need any bezel on the sides, just on the bottom (and top so it's symmetrical I suppose).

small problem is that the digitizer may pick up touches when being held from the sides. could be fixed in software/firmware i'm sure.

I would think there would need to be a little bezel on the top, at a minimum, for the speaker and camera.

Non-Apple phones are more durable and do not need cases.

Lol, I drop my SGS2 way too many times on concrete weekly to go caseless.

If you hold it the right way you won't get any nicks on the side...
Im sure there will still be a 1-2mm lip or something on the side.

Looks like the mockups for the iPhone 5 last year. Word was that design was pretty spot on but there were some manufacturing problems. Looks like Samsung will beat Apple to it this year.

Thats one hot phone. That's what I want, a phone with almost no bezel. Where have I seen that camera flip icon? hmmmm...lol.

Meh, I would rather drop my phone 100 times than drop my Prime again. The SGS2 is a tank, and is maybe one of the most durable devices I have owned. The Prime is a tin can in comparison lol.

Now THAT'S the future. Holy crap I want a phone like that. Everything else looks downright primitive in comparison. Too much bezel looks outdated on anything from monitors, to TVs and now smart phones.
What could Apple possibly sue for? Being even farther behind Samsung?

Sounds like someone's butt-hurt because their 'team' is being eclipsed by better, more forward-reaching designs. Seems that's all fanboi-dom gets you in the end.

No, I just don't comprehend your overexuberant fanboyish glee over a Samsung product.

Got something against Samsung? I don't care who makes it. I'm not rooting for any 'team'. If it were Moto or HTC or LG or whoever with such great designs I'd be just as happy about the fact that the design is forward, not backward thinking. Heck, I'll be jazzed about an iPhone 5 (or 6? or 7? or EVER?) that finally steps up with a more breakthrough design and a screen size more appropriate for 2012, not 2009.
It just so happens it's Samsung that's on a roll right now. Unlike the fanbois that actually get sad and defensive when better technology comes along that's not by "their team", I'm happy because I like technology no matter who makes it. Deal.

If Samsung manages to deliver the quality of their recent handsets in a design like that the other Android OEMs might as well throw in the towel now.
Just having a device like that out in the public would be the best marketing Samsung could possibly ask for, it makes every current smartphone look like a brick from the 90's in comparison.

I am not even sure Apple can build something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJEHp15Hoo0
AMOLED is perfectly suited for the bezel-free application, since the whole display is basically a thin flexible film that doesn't need much structural reinforcement.
