Default New Claussen 'Hot & Spicy' Pickle Spears

Damn, i just picked some of these up tonight at my local supermarket. I've had spicy pickles before and to be honest, they weren't that spicy.

I love pickles and thought, eh, why not. So i picked up a jar.

OMG....these things are hot hot hot! Very spicy and hot!

Great flavor though and very hot. One of those great tastes when you first bite into it, then a nice quick heat throughout your mouth and tongue.

If you are a fan of spicy pickles, try some or let me know your opinion of them!

Hmm I made some fried pickles today, and fried hot & spicy pickles sounds really good.

Thanks for the heads up.
I'm a fan of Claussen and of the local Mexican pickled carrots/jalapeno slices mix.
This should be just what I am looking for.

Hmm...haven't had anything that can hold a candle to Van Holten's Hot Mama, that's one spicy pickle! Might have to keep an eye out for these though

Very hot? I'm not sure I've had anything from the store that was very hot outside of hot sauce. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for them. I'm always up for spicy food, and I love pickles anyway, so regardless of heat level, I'm sure I'll dig them.

Best pickles ever, nice and spicy with hot peppers as well. Tony Packo's pickles and peppers.

Are they dill or sweet, like bread and butter chips?

They are Dill with a nice crunchy, garlicky, hot flavor to them. The level of heat is i'd say slightly higher than a Frank's Red Hot sauce.

Brought them to work with me today and my co-workers love em!

Going to have to buy another jar already....Lol.

I might try them out... I haven't been able to find any good spicy pickles anywhere. There are the Famous Dave's pickles, but they have fucking high fructose corn syrup in them.

I suppose I could even try my hand at making some!

Famous Dave's suck, they are sweet pickles and are not even close to being hot...love the Devil Spit BBQ sauce but the pickles are shit. These are just pure awesomeness, and damn hot, my wife can only eat one piece and says her ilps are numb after Making pickles isn't too hard but I prefer making pickled veggies (carrots, green tomato's, cauliflower, asparagus, etc) with a couple habanero's thrown in for flavor, the pickles are cheap but finding good pickled veggies is hard and they're damn expensive when you do

I tried some last month. Not bad, but I really don't like spears- I prefer full pickles, I feel they stay crunchier.

If they make hot and spicy pickles (not spears) I might try them again.

I didn't know they still existed, I LOVE their sweet pickles.
I'm going to have to order some of those hot ones.

Claussen are by far the best "national" brand of pickles.

I have to agree... I have tried almost every kind at our local Kroger and Hy-Vees... even the store brands. Haven't had anything as good as the Claussen's I had a few weeks ago, just can't freakin' find them!

I might try Wally World next...and am definitely going to try out the Best Maid pickles ^^^

They are the only pickles I will ever buy again, they have some little ones they call snappy dills that are pretty darn good too.

They're pretty damn hot actually. If you get the right one it'll take your breath away.

I got them at Stop & Shop in NJ.

OP is correct, they are indeed pretty spicy.
