7970, Huge performance difference between drivers
There is a massive performance gain in the AVP dx 11 bench using the Guru drivers vs. the ones posted on AMD. These are my own results

No surprise, the card came out 2 weeks ago.
Anyone expecting this thing to smack games into orbit from day one is out of their minds...

good lord, that's like a 35% gain. Lava can you try other games (i.e. Crysis 2).

So if the 7970 was 25% better than the 580 before this patch..its now how much better?

Well... if that driver makes it 35% faster in everything (doubtfull)....
125% x 1.35 = ~168% of a 580.
I seriously doubt that though, this was just 1 game, where it increases like that at a high resolution.
Undoubtably though, the drivers (since its a new arch) are gonna see big increases in performance with each release for some time.

I have done no further testing as I just happen to run the test and noticed a large performance increase. I have no other benchies to compare either and won't get around to anymore testing tonight, Pats game takes priority

Is it possible to take screenshot(s) of each run, just to check there's nothing gone funky with any settings? (e.g. SSAO, DX11 settings etc).
Also was it just one run per driver?

Makes sense, on paper it's a LOT faster then what it actually benched at. Chalked it up to immature drivers for a very new arch.

Anyone else tried this? Would be nice to know whether this driver helps other games.

Very interested to see the outcome of this. If a new driver manages 20-30% gains across the board, my 6950s won't know what hit them.

Hell, even 10% overall improvement would be amazing just a week after launch.

I made multiple runs of each and results are repeatable. Patriots are dominating....28-7

Tebow time is usually in the 4th quarter. Although I don't think god can even help him against tom brady...

Hey, I've got a 7970! However, I'm stuck on my 1280x1024 monitor until tomorrow night
I can run benchies tomorrow if you guys want, too.

IQ is better with these. They might have better min framerate. Max is the same from what I am testing.

These drivers are worse for mining than the 1/9 officials.

You are right not even the lord could have saved them from Brady.
I'm glad the tebow bandwagon is now in a ditch they were only able to pull those lil comebacks from teams that don't produce alot of scoring. Once they started playing better teams their lack of scoring screwed them. And I don't care how good you are you can't recover from 30 points down in the 4th quarter!
As for the OP just wait until these cards are 3-4 months old the drivers should be even better.
