Default What is your CPU temperature?

What are your CPU core temperatures idle and underload? I am just wondering whether my thermal paste is effective as should be, so I feel a comparison with others would help me out. Also I'm using HWMonitor and it gives me the temperatures of my four cores as well as a package temperature, but I'm not sure what package temperature means.

My four cores are at 28 degrees Celsius and the package is at 35 degrees Celsius

I don't have any underload temperatures because this PC is brand new so I haven't played any games on it yet. But I appreciate you posting your idle and under load temperatures. Thank you!

Also I'm using a Intel Core i5 2500k with a Hyper 212+ Push Pull configuration. It hasn't been overclocked yet.

i2500K @ 4.7ghz with H100 Water Cooler.

idle in bios = 31c
idle in windows 7 = 32-36c (cores vary)
under load OCCT/Prime95 = 54-56c

I use OCCT, coretemp, and Asrock's program and they are all matching closely...

The one 2500K rig I have also has the 212 EVO cooler, and at 4.8Ghz @ 1.35v (a decent low-voltage chip) it runs at around 61C. To get to 5.0Ghz, voltage requires 1.44v, and the temps hit 75C. I also tested under the H60 and H100 coolers, and one thing I found, as the temps get higher, the H100 starts to pull ahead. At lower temps, the Hyper 212 EVO does a great job.

On the average 2500K at medium overclocks (46x-48x depending on voltage required), the Hyper 212 is all you need. So there is some advantage to finding the lowest stable voltage required for a given overclock, it makes a lot of difference.

If you are doubting your thermal paste or the heatsink connection, you hould be looking at the speed at which the temperatures change under load. If they go up really fast and slowly drop after load then thats showing you that the heatsink is not very well thermally coupled.

Have a 2500K and running at the highest I've taken it, 4.8GHz at around 1.42 volts, it hits 69 max on an H70 with one Ultra Kaze 3000 pushing air thru it.

Edit: idles between 26 and 31 with core variance.

Interesting....what vcore are you pushing? Those load temps in what?

I read the reviews and that would be phenomenal performance for that cooler. That would blow away my H100 and in the reviews that cooler doesn't outperform an H70. PLus I modified my H100 with a push pull method and in reviews at stock it outperformed the H70.

There is likley no way I can likely reach 5.3ghz wothout temps in the mid 70's with luck that it will even boot....

My guess that load temp must be none stress testing load. Is that right?

4.2 at 1.23 on A70 cooler with fans on low. I get upper 20s to mid 30s for idle in a fairly cool 69 F room. that is with all power saving features disabled too though so its actually at that speed and voltage at idle. at load during maximum Intel Burn Test I get mid 50s to right at 60 C.

RAWR i hold crown on this forum for ambient.

ummm i should note.. my Liquid Cooling alone probably costs more then most of the complete systems posted here.

So my scores are nothing near average or normal... it more represents u having too many toys and too much time.

Hyper 212 plus and artic silver 5.

Used artic silver 5 in so many builds and for friends it really helps out its a must have for any build i do

I do doubt my load temps but i used cpuid hwmonitor and apparently that never lies but my vcore is at 1.356 when fully loaded so maybe?

Build is housed in a antec 300 case fans on medium

lol, why are you posting your AMD cpu temps? that will not help the OP at all.

Idle is somewhere under a volt, load is about 1.37 for 5.3, maybe spikes to 1.4. P95, when i get home ill post a screenshot of my temps.............but after a BIOS update i cant get it stable to OC at all anymore

My 2600K peaks around 93-94°C at 5GHz and 1.5V under LinX with an H100.

34-38C idle temps and high 60's load. Low/Mid 70's with GPU stressed at the same time.

How did grkm3 get a hold of your computer? Stress testing at 1.7vcore again?

None of these numbers or anyone elses in this thread mean a single thing until you get an accurate measurement of ambient temps. Comparing my temps in a warm room to yours in one with AC on full blast are like comparing apples and goats.

P.s if you want to get a reading of your pc temps under heavy load then download intel burn test and run it on high. IF you see temps rising above 65 degrees C at stock clocks in what I would call "normal room temperature" of around 25 degrees C and you have decent air movement through your case I would say you should reapply your TIM.

It has been a while since my 2500k was at stock but from what I can remember a IBT run on high was peaking around 60 degrees C in a 20-25 degree room.

Please be aware that the numbers in this post are "best guesses" without knowing your exact case fan setup, fan curve and ambient temps they could be out by 5 to 10 degrees easily.

OP's title is misleading then since it says nothing about Intel or AMD. Even in the body of the post, he mentions that he's running Intel, but doesn't say that he wants feed back from other Intel owners.

My BCM5352 is at 35 C but only because the cat likes to sleep on top of it.

Are you refering to a 4.3 ghz OC. Because if you are actually telling me you got to 5.3ghz on 1.37v with 50 degree max load temps i'm afraid I need to see proof because that would be the absolute best overclocking 2500k I have ever seen proof of...

You numbers are out by a mile as far as I am concerned. I've seen people who can hit 5ghz on around 1.40v (although most of these don't have screenies to prove it) but 5.3 on 1.37 seems a little far fetched and 50 degrees C at load with that voltage... what load are we talking about? big difference between gaming and something like IBT.

I await your screen shots with baited breath

Is temp variation on the cores like this normal? I have the same thing going on and the same cores seem to run hot on mine also. I was thinking of resetting my heatsink cause I thought it wasn't mounted properly to get such a wide variation.

Sorry I don't own an i2500k but just had to jump in here to call 'bullshit' on your 5.3ghz OC.

Show me 100 passes Linpack completed or about to complete along with Realtemp screenshot side by side with reasonable 24/7 voltages on CPUZ (i.e. non-suicide run). If you can do that, I will apologize to all for doubting you.
