He's referring to how Jebediah Kerman is a badass when things go awry. Bill and Bob go nuts all the time, but Jeb is always smiling, even if you're about to hit the ground at 1100 m/s.

I am even more obtuse than normal today, only slept 3 hours due to a support call in the middle of the night, and only slept 3 hours the night before due to 5 hours of investigation in the middle of the night because of a different issue .... I feel like the human zombie ....
I assume Jeb Kerman is a character in the game?

Ah, don't worry about it
But yea, Jeb Kerman is one of the three spacemen that you always see in the bottom left of the screen.

This game is pretty awesome.
I'd be more than willing to pay some cash to get this game going even further (Like the 10 dollar alpha of minecraft).
There's a TON of potential left...it's an unspoiled gem as of now.

So apparently it's a good idea to save some thrust for the return trip.

Just made my first orbit and saw my first Kerbal sunset. Also, I was within a few hundred meters of my apogee at that point:
I tried going for a circular orbit, didn't quite make it. Should have enough fuel to correct it though.
Edit:
Perigee: ~83km
Apogee: ~145km

Any advice....the items that i can build with are pretty limited, i have absolutely no clue what I'm doing. I can barely make something that makes it even a few hundred feet into the air.

Well, half the fun is experimenting. It took me a while before I could get a rocket to even escape the atmosphere (at around 40,000 m).
But if you need further help, here's a video to get you started:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEN0MkI8Vyk
Edit: note, the rocket that that guy builds in the video is a bit on the crazy side, but that's the fun in it. You can get escape velocity and into orbit with a far more minimalistic rocket.

Played a bit last night ....
This is actually quite a fun little game.... I see lots of room for improvement, but for a proof of concept, this is magnificent!!!! I am looking forward to trying some crazy weird rockets and trying out some of the mods!

Tried it just now at the office on fastest, about 10fps on an 82945G and P4 3.2ghz with HT.
Gonna try it at home though, it was fun even at 10fps.

Yeah, this game rules even for the early version that's been released. Gonna have to keep checking on this one.

Yep, just take a look at the planned features:
http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/i...anned_features
If even half the stuff listed there makes into the game, I'd be seriously impressed. I think the developer said that he plans on following Minecraft's business model... and I think it'll work out pretty well for him.

I think I'm going to get involved with their project, I'm a sound engineer and will see what I can do to help them.

Just tried this today and it's pretty cool. I managed to get into low orbit with my second rocket, with minimal controlling, however it was very very basic. Anytime I attempt to do something more complex it is so erratic or falls apart.
One of the more annoying things I find is simply the "grid lock" for parts. Most of the time (for example) 3 parts lock where they are supposed to, and the 4th part just won't line up. It is quite annoying.
They need to make one of those little guys puke in his helmet when you go into a spin lol
Part of me things this is secretly NASA looking for engineers to make a new shuttle ;p (You know..kinda like the last starfighter mwahhha)

There is none (yet). It's still a work in progress game that will eventually have set goals behind it. Right now, it's a sandbox toy, but the hope is that it will become much more.
As for goals? Make your own. Pretty much the hardest thing to do right now is get into orbit... it's not as easy as it sounds. Perhaps in the future, a moon will be added so that you can land on it, but who know?
