This randomly popped into my head. They kinda do look the same.

I think they just look the same...the ideas might have been taken forom the Delorean, but over all Im pretty sure the animators and designers were just looking for that "cool and fast" look of the time.

Probably, cuz at that point in time John Delorean was in no position to sue them.

Also, Gadget was a lucky clueless bumbling fool.

The Gadgetmobile seems to resemble a Mark II Toyota Supra, a Mitsubishi Starion (similar style car, with vents behind the window), or a Bricklin SV-1.
