Gigabyte EP45-UD3R Phase LEDs Flash & No Post
This build is about 10 months old. Have not touched any hardware or BIOS setting in months. It started to periodically power itself down. Frequency increased to twice yesterday, and it would not start the second time.
The panel lights flash about once per second, and there is a noise at the same frequency, which I think is the floppy drive. This board has 6 Phase LED indicators which are supposed to be solid and the more light lit up the harder the processor is working. Now these LEDs flash at the same frequency except for the first one which is solid green. The CPU and case fan run normally.
Since I started to trouble shoot it today, it started once, and booted up normally. However, it powered itself down in about 3 minutes -- and before I could check anything. Now it is back to the flashing trick.
I've done the following with no changes -- still just the flashing. The case speaker never makes a sound -- no beeps.
1. Removed one memory stick, both memory sticks, switched memory sticks
2. Pulled and reseated graphics card
3. Cleared the CMOS
Could I take the CPU (Intel E4300) out, and see if I can get a diagnostic beep, instead of the flashing?
I have found a few similar posts of this problem in other forums, but no solution. Any other thoughts? Any suggestion is appreciated.
