Angry My "What U Hear" recording is not working... (Windows 7 64-Bit)

Sorry, I'm reposting this from the audio board because I haven't gotten a response from there...

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. I was able to record things through my sound card with "What U Hear" (so that you can record something that's playing on your computer) using Audacity, but now it doesn't even work, because Audacity & Sound Recorder can't recognize my "What U Hear" option. In the sound recording menu tab, I get a gray "currently unavailable" text underneath "What U Hear." I tried making the device default, but it doesn't do anything.

My sound card is Creative Audigy Soundblaster ZS2, and I'm using the most recent drivers for it made for Windows 7: 2.18.0011

I also realized I have a Realtek onboard sound on my mobo, but it's not being detected by Windows 7 (probably to avoid interference with my sound card?) What do I do?

It seems like I've read that "What u hear" doesn't work in Windows 7.

Mine is working, also W7 x64. Try disabling all the other recording devices.

When I disable all recording devices, "What U Hear" goes from "Temporarily Unavailable" to "Default Device." But when I hit record on Audacity and then record whatever I hear on my computer, all I get it a strange, choppy, staticy sound. I'm not sure what's going on.

EDIT: Nevermind, figured out why it was staticy: The format in the Advanced tab of both recording and playback had to be set to the same thing: 16-bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).

Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for this valuable advice.
On my Dell Studio laptop under Windows 7, this simple manipulation allowed me to engage the Playback Recording mode. I have been browsing around all possible configuration screens in vain, trying to solve the "currently unavailable" status indication. The IDT driver has its own specific sound configuration dialogue with some more settings in it, but none of that helped. Your advice finally got me a breakthrough.
