Typing the symbol "x with a line over it"
I'm trying to type out some equations and can't figure out where the symbol is for a X with a line above it. Anyone?

I just use x*.
will that be sufficient or do you really need the x bar?

Typing the symbol "x with a line over it"
Check under Insert->Symbol.
I'm on a lousy Mac, so of course it doesn't have the full suite of symbols that Word does on a PC.

The equation editor is separate from Word. You can insert an eq field though.
Insert => Field => Eq => Field Codes => "\x\to(X)"

You mean the vector of X? You using word? They have a nifty program for equations in there somewhere.
Yea, look for the equation editor. I use the one in Openoffice, but it shoudl be the same. All sorts of symbols useful for equations. Just have to figure it out though (can't help you, sorry).

Searching gives me stuff on EQ Field, but I'm not sure what that means.
