A proper english sharp cheddar is delicious for eating by itself.
Monterey Jack (and pepper jack) and provolone are the kings for sandwich making, though.

feta added, and i agree with ya froggy, a good cheddar is a real treat. I like my squishy cheeses tho, so the camembert was my vote...

Cheddar is clearly the best cheese. It also has the best ninja skills especially when sharp.

A good cheddar that has been smoked on my Weber Smokey Mountain is where it's at.

Ricotta is runner-up for it's versatility in cooking.

I demand that you add limburger because I live in wisconsin and it's only made here.

Also, maybe add Wensleydale gromit!

Agreed.

Sharp cheddar is the best for snacking. Pepper jack/montery jack for sammiches & burgers.

I think smoked gouda is my favorite cheese of all, but it's far from an "everyday" cheese.

Wow Dug's got some good customer service. Too bad no one will vote for those two. Although I read that wensleydale is back in action thanks to W&G. Maybe I'll order some...

I love all kinds of cheeses, but Feta takes the crown by far. I'm originally from Bulgaria, so there's few things I can't/won't eat with Feta

I love pretty much all those mentioned... I'd have to go with gouda.

blue cheese is usually a variant of brie or camembert iirc?

And i thought pepper jack was a cheddar variant...

Come on, Pepperjack!!

It is derived from Monterey Jack cheese, not cheddar?

As i said, isn't pepper jack just mild cheddar with chilli?

If it is, there's no way it's getting added

Cheddar is the best cheese overall (by far). But other cheeses are good for specific uses... for example, Asadero cheese for making white cheese dip.

Brie and Cammembert are not blue cheeses. Roquefort and Gorgonzola are, among others (stilton too I think).
