Default How unhealthy are unfiltered cigarettes?

I'm not a big smoker, I don't particularly enjoy them. But lately I've enjoyed smoking a Lucky Strike every other day or so. I don't plan on doing it long term or anything, but it's just an interesting thing to try for a while.

Now the thing is when I went to buy a pack, most places were out or didn't carry them. They all looked at me like I was crazy and said things like "You smoke those?" Everyone seems to make a big deal about them being unfiltered. In my mind however, filtered are almost just as bad if not worse.

With unfiltered I smoke one and I'm on my ass and done for the day. With filtered, you smoke many more just to get the same effect. Am I crazy or is there really not much of a difference, so long as you aren't smoking packs or even a few a day?

What's the difference between shooting yourself in the head with a .22 or a 357??

Lucky strikes are disgusting. Try smoking american spirits if you're just doing the occasional smoke.

You'll inhale more crap on your commute to work than one cigarette's worth of tar. Of this I am certain. Let the man have his vice.

uhm, a lot of the chemicals that normally do not make it to your system will do so now because of the lack of a filter. Obviously the number wouldn't change this fact, not like smoking more cigarettes makes the filter less effective (although i wouldn't condone chain smoking either way).

And the reason you're on your ass? Because you're getting high off some pretty heavy toxins forcefully entering your body. It's no longer a straight nic buzz. Of course, smoking filtered cigarettes in no way ensures that what you're inhaling is toxin-free.

The only way to get that? Use a patch or something, and slap it on your tongue.

We're going to do an experiment here.

First, take a pillow and hold it to the side of your head with one hand. Take the other hand, pick up your hand gun, and shoot yourself in the head through the pillow.

Second, shoot yourself in the head without the pill--oh, wait, nevermind.

Both are unhealthy, but the filters filter out roughly 65% of the carcinogens and tar. Oddly enough, 10% of the world supply of cigarette filters are made in my hometown.

Wow, maybe where you live. I strongly doubt that this is true where I am.

Non filtered are better for you in the sense you dont inhale as hard therefore the smoke doesnt get into your lungs as much.
How is this beneficial?
The type of lung cancer from non filtered cigarettes is higher up in the lungs and it easier to treat and not as severe. Lower lung cancer is a bitch. This is what your more likely to get from filtered cigarettes.

The .22 will bounce around in your skull while the .357 will just blow right clean through.
