Default how much per hour is $40,000 salary?

do you convert yearly salary to hourly wage with 48 or 52 weeks?

i used to just use the formula
[(wage * 40) * 4 ] * 12

but would it be more accurate to use 52 weeks instead?

like [(Hourly Wage * 40) * 52]

If a company says they're offering $40,000 what would be the hourly wage?

I don't think you can convert it directly, there are lots of things like benefits to factor in and any 401k plans and such that they offer.

To be exact...its $19.178 per hour.

You take $40,000/365 days = 109.589
Take 109.589 x 7 = $767.123. Thats how much you make a week.
Take $767.123 / 40hrs and $19.18 is exactly how much you make per hr.

At $40K, putting 8% into 401K and paying about $20 for insurance, take homw pay is about $540 week.
This is in Florida which does not have state income tax.

About $20/hr IF the weekly work hours are 40 hrs/week and 52 weeks/year. You need to check the benefits/holidays/etc.
