Default Does anybody rent Xbox 360's?

My son's birthday is this sunday and I'd like to rent a 360 for him and his friends while they're at the house. Does anybody do this anymore?

He doesn't get a 360 because he sold his PS2 without checking with us. Just did it. So he gets no more consoles from me.

You'd think I'd know better than to just get a straight answer.

I dont know if you have one, but I know they rent consoles. Im not sure if they rent the 360 yet though, Any other smaller shops you might try in your city. Dont know anyone you could pay 50-100 bucks or something for the day to borrow it? If its for a good cause, why not?

Gotcha.

Yeah, I checked local shops and they laughed. Sigh.

Wishful thinking.

Did he sell it in attempt to get money for a 360? If so, I think that was a smart move on his part. Also, how much did he sell it for?

I don't think xbox360's have been distributed widely enough to have stores rent them out... I think the fear would be too many people not returning them.

Unless they charged a $350 rental deposit... which is kind of steep.

My local Blockbuster rents PS2's and Xbox's. They may or may not rent the 360.

Blockbuster (IIRC) rents out consoles. I believe you have to put a $400 deposit in to rent it, and when you return to you get your deposit back.

Exactly. He did it without even consulting me. So he'll never get another one from me. Heck, *I* would have given him $40 for it!

From what I've seen, most alcoholic beverages are "rented" when people turn 21.

The problem I have with the "buy it and return it" suggestions is to me that's stealing. So it's not an option for me.
