Default How to Raise Toilet Water Level?

So my wife and I moved recently, and one of our toilet's water level in the bowl is lower than the others. I've tried added water directly to it, and moving water from the back of the toilet into the bowl, but nothing has worked.

So how would one go about raising the water level in a toilet bowl? (it's just a standard ol' toilet btw)

I think you need to make the floater stop at a higher level.... The higher the floater can go, the more water the bowl will allow.

It is not possible in the vast majority of toilets. All you can do is raise it to (or maybe a smidgen past) the manufacturers set point. It is how the toilet was constructed.

The level of water depends on how high the U shaped part goes. It's a trap that holds water, and when the level goes higher, it just spills out and goes down to the sewer.

But if the toilet is not letting enough water in to begin with...he should still have room.

That's gonna result in the same water level and less water when flushing which is the complete opposite of what he's asking.

yup

unless he puts the brick in the bowl itself...but that might make flushing a bit difficult

Exactly, I didnt mean toss one into the tank... then he would end up with less water. Toss it into the bowl.

If it is the standard ballcock screw it into the assembly to make it shorter.

The tower design has an adjustment screw or you can turn the assemply itself.

DaTT is not wrong. If there is something wrong with the water to bowl delivery system, then the tank could be full, but the bowl level would be low.

However, if the toilet is not broken, then, as I said about 20 posts up, it is not possible to increase the bowl level in the vast majority of toilets.

Inside the tank, there is a tube rising out of the middle. There should be a smaller tube that flows water into that tube while the valve is on. Make sure you have good flow at that time. If that smaller tube is not in place, or clogged, the bowl will not fill all the way.
