Default LA Confidential The secrets of Lance Armstrong

LA Confidential The secrets of Lance Armstrong written by David Walsh and Pierre Ballester, is this book even available in English? I've had no luck finding it. Anyone have any info? Thanks!

There is no English version. Lance has an army of lawyers trying to keep it that way.

I agree with Randum. You can't be as consistent throughout a career as he has been if you're a doper. /thread

I watched a special on Lance Armstrong, where they were saying how he was getting 7+ random drug tests a year. As opposed to his competition which would only get 1 or 2 a year. They just could never find anything. And the best part? He just kept winning.

There was a rumor that he may have doped right after surviving cancer. I totally doubt it, because there is no proof either way (He wasn't famous enough then), and the person who put out that claim said that after being dropped from Team Discovery (shens). But even if he did do it right after cancer, that doesn't preclude the fact that he has won so many without doping. All it proves is that the once who hate Lance Armstrong, are either insecure and jealous, or just @$$holes trying to start conflict. In either case, they are both childish morons.

The truth is, he has so many people working on the best way to optimize his performance without doping: food, exercise, breathing/O2 levels, bike geometry, bike weight, ... and above all that, he trains harder than anyone else on the Tour, that everyone on the Tour was really competing for 2nd place. I guarantee that if you rode every day at your maximum performance on hilly terrain (CAT1/2) about 150-225 miles, slept in an oxygen deprivation tent almost every night, watched your calories so much that you are less than 3-4% body fat, and had trained since you were young to bolster the growth of your heart and lungs + genetics, you would win the Tour as well.

Also, most european teams will claim the winner dopes if they aren't from their nation.

I hate almost all French teams because they do this, plus they are a bunch of arrogantn punks on the rode. There is a saying in French cycling, "There are the doper cyclists, and then, there are the French cyclists." Apparently, the only reason French cyclists don't win is because they don't dope; not because they don't train as hard. I would beg to venture that that book is written with the same mindset.

There was a video clip if I can find it of a French rider showing off right before the finish line and falling off and another cyclist taking the win. If I find it, I will post the link.
