Default Vista Vs. XP

vista gave me the worst computer experience of any os
I have used both, but sadly I'm going back to XP pro SP2

xp pro wins 3 to 1 in this XS poll:

Default Vista Vs. XP

I am not very impressed with Vista. Its a poorly exceuted version of Mac X. I will be going back to XP.

The Vista Service pack further crippled a dysfunctioning os.

Vista OS $100

Spending almost a week installing and configuring a vista system

My GF frustrated using Vista PC and finding its not worth the hype. She told me to go back to XP and that I WAS RIGHT : PRICELESS

I use both (missing option in the poll), and I like XP better. Less driver problems, and the system doesn't suddenly start doing things in the background while I'm surfing the web like it does under Vista.

Can I download XP Pro x64 and use my legit x32 key with it?

For me, it has the same support as 32-bit XP.

I'm fairly sure that is incorrect. Vista 64 lets you use the 32bit key but I believe XP 64 requires its own.

I've used both xp pro 32 & 64 and the x64 version required it's own key and is considered a complete different os. Vista ultimate x64 is the most stable ms os I've used to date and I'll be staying with it for a while.

I can relate to this analogy! After fighting with driver issues on a new Vista install for a few hours, I need to hit the hard stuff as well

as long as you use reasonably new hardware, youll be fine. IE, that dot matrix printer from 1999 probably isn't going to work anymore.

I used XP x64 since about 4 months after it's release up until 3 months ago (so..... 2-3 years?) and never had a single problem finding drivers. All the major players had 64bit beta drivers out 1-2 months after the OS was released.

There was however, the random program that simply refused to work on x64, but they obviously weren't very important because I can't recall any specific names.

Using Vista; lovin' it.

Only issue: my Line 6 hardware won't work with 64-bit Vista. But this has nothing to do with Vista and everything to do with Line 6 being too petty to release 64-bit drivers; the drivers work just fine on Vista 32-bit.

I use both XP & VISTA. I do really get pissed at VISTA from time to time & just about never feel that way about my XP machine.
I'll stay with VISTA like Popeye says, "I'll stands till I can stands no more".

Vista and I don't see a reason why I should move back. Games install and run, can program and debug in Visual Studio as well as all the other day to day stuff.

It's progress, maybe just not as big a step as everyone had hoped. Gamers for sure have a very short memory about XP.....

I had all my Vista x64 drivers within 5 weeks, even my Vista x86 on my lappy has no driver issues,Vista is now boring to tell you the truth , since the OS is so solid and stable for all my needs.

I will stick with my XP cause it runs everything I need, as fast if not faster, and I spend my time using my apps and not staring at the UI.

Me too, that's why I appreciate Vista's faster app launch, and stability as compared to XP ;^)
