Default My first ATOT medical thread! One arm is colder than the other

I was playing racquetball a few days ago (my first exercise in quite some time) and I ran into the wall a few times with my right shoulder. The next day my arm and shoulder felt a bit sore and still feels a bit sore now, although a bit better. My real concern is that my right arm feels a bit colder than the rest of my body. The pain is fine, there is no bruising, just the slight temperature difference. I would go see a doctor but I'm on a vacation and time is short, so I'd rather not go if I don't need to.

What do you guys think? Any input?

My current plan is to not see a doctor until it gets worse or stays the same for 3 more days.

nerve damage. I have nerve damage in my back from wrestling and I experience coldness/numbness in my arm sometimes. Probably will heal soon enough if you rest it though. Mine is permanent. And much worse than that if I use it to throw or play tennis or those type of motions. You could see a doctor if you dont want to chance it, but he might send you to a neurologist.

Sounds like a problem with one of your hearts. The right one.

No, wait. I just remembered the medical texts. Left heart pumps to the right side of the body, right to the left. Yes that's it.

Just took a nice hot bath. Feeling much better painwise. Not sure about the temperature difference though. I guess we'll see tomorrow.

If my arm falls off, I want to do it in style. Any suggestions?

Poor circulation. They may have to amputate.

turn away from the open door, open window, fan, AC, or close the refridgerator door if you aren't going to pick something to eat!

When To Call a Doctor

Call your health professional immediately if you had an injury to your elbow and:

* You have severe elbow pain.
* You cannot move your elbow normally.
* Your elbow looks deformed.
* Your elbow begins to swell within 30 minutes of the injury.
* You have signs of damage to the nerves or blood vessels. These include:
o Numbness, tingling, or a "pins-and-needles" sensation below the injury.
o Pale or bluish skin.
o The injured arm feeling colder to the touch than the uninjured one.
