Default Chevy PU larger wheels/tires

I am considering putting larger wheels on my 93 long bed Chevy. I dont think I want to go larger than 18".

I have always had Goodyear RTS on the truck and have now had the 7th tire fail so I am looking for a good replacement tire. I like the ride, but Goodyear can kiss my ass.

What do I need to do to the speedo if I go to a larger tire and rim?

thanks

Why do you want larger wheels/tires? They will likely be heavier than stock wheels which will increase stopping distances, degrade handling and make the vehicle more prone to roll over.

Edit-And lower fuel economy.

The main reason is I think it would update the look of the truck. The older style Chevy w/15" wheels just looks dwarfed to todays trucks.

My first tire suggestion...........BF Goodrich!! Any of the "terrain T/A" series......(assuming you can get 'em in 18" or whatever size you choose).

As for wheels............well...........I'm not familiar w/ Chevy lug patterns, but assuming the newer stuff fits your '94, you might contact local dealers asking if they've got any "pulloffs" from people who upgraded their wheels right off the lot. (Obviously, this is if you like any of the newer Chevy wheels).

Assuming you're not lowered, I kinda' like this look (minus the side effects).........

Now......if you wanted to lift it..........then we're talkin' a whole new ballgame........

idk what your current tire size is but i think it's 235/75/15. if it is, these should fit:

16: 235/70/16
17: 235/65/17
18: 235/60/18

you're gonna get a rougher ride...16" probably'll make no difference but i'm pretty sure you'll feel it at 18". btw, your truck needs some damn expensive tires they're like double what mine cost

If you want a truck to look better, put bigger tires on it, and keep the stock wheels. It's not a BMW.

I'll second the BFG All-Terrain TA. If you want more aggressive, more road noise though, the ud Terrain TA is great too!

Great tire!

Assuming these tire failures are the result of running over/into various objects then sticking with the smaller wheels and going with BFG TA KOs is probably a better route than bigger wheels and lower profile tires.
