Registry entry "C07ft5Y" is in HKEY Local Machine. What is it?
A Google search says that it's related to TurboTax, but I've never owned a copy of that software. Spybot shows nothing on the system. What is this entry?

it's used by C_DILLA, a software copy protection system.

I used Google. I did see C-dilla mentioned, and the word "spyware" used at the same time. Spybot showed nothing though; I just wondered if the entry was a leftover then, or if it's still on the system.
I'll have to see what else might use C-Dilla.

As far as I know, it is used by SafeDisc. The default value for that key on my machince is "SafeDisc RefCount"

Yes, first 0000000, all the way through FFFFFFF.

you're not the only one... but I'm not that thorough . Usually it's more of a check to make sure I recognize the apps.

Yeah, usually I go into the registry to manually remove entries from crappy uninstallers, or botched installs, or to remove pesky things from the Run sections.

RE:Registry entry "C07ft5Y" is in HKEY Local Machine. What is it?
i occasionally go wondering through the registry. came across that and wondered what da hell it was as well. thanks! this finally put my paranoid mind to rest. only reason i didn't delete it was because i saw the same registry key in my spare rig also running winXP. thought since they both have it, prolly came with XP.
