Thanks a lot for the full BIOS settings. I'm picking up this board next week so I'll use these settings once I get things built. What water cooling setup are you using ?

Nice RAM. Great to see its workin for ya. How long have you had this setup?

Will post my own setup/results next week some time (hopefully). Thanks for starting this and giving your BIOS settings.

iluv2fly has pretty much covered how to OC with this board, so I'll just post my settings. I have tried to go higher with no luck. Looking forward to keeping an eye on this thread to see different configs I can try. Also, adding temps may be helpful so:

Multiplier: 9
FSB: 1333
RAM: 667
vCore: +.0375 (results in 1.35v)
MemVoltage: 1.9v
All other voltages stock
Core temp Idle/Load: 28C/53C

My watercooling setup is nothing to brag about. I have a Coolermaster Aquagate mini 120. It does the job but that's it. I modified it with 2 quiet fans and now it is performing okay.

If I had the chance to do it again I would buy a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.
http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling...oc.aspx?i=2943

A Zalman 9500 would work to.

I have played around with the front bus and I noticed that there is "holes" in the frequency range. There are some frequencies you can't use. In my case anything between 1200-1310 is unusable. The computer will not even boot up. If I raise it above that it will boot just fine.

It seems like there are "sweet spots" in the frequency range. I haven?t tried pushed it more than 1500mhz speed so there might actually be another "sweet spot" higher up in the frequency range. I don't know why it is behaving like that. Maybe it is a Bios issue that will be fixed later.

When I first got the board it had bios version 1.0 on it and I could not do anything with it. After flashing to Bios 1.1 it worked much better.

So check your bios version. Maybe try a higher FSB frequency.

Did you have to mod the E4300? Or could you OC it without modifing it?

So, you didn't have to mod the pro, did you?.
The new bios allowed you to OC the E4300 to 3.3, didn't it?
Another thing... What are the holes you could discover?

Where did you find the 1.1 bios? I have been looking for a bios update but can't seem to find one.

Here is MSI's download link.

Try the "Live update online" first. If that doesn't work, try this link:

I don't know how much stock to put in it, but the moderators on msi's forum strongly discourage liveupdate bios updates and recommend flashing from bootable usb keys.

BIOS: V1.0
Proc: e6300@2.66 gHz
FSB: 380
RAM: 1:1 @760mHz, 4-4-4-15

Voltage bump of .05 to CPU and NB

Temps Idle 36C-38C (CoreTemp)
Full Orthos load 58C-60C
Slightly less in TAT

Notes - would like to hit 400FSB sometime at least for kicks, but I'm keenly aware of temps. Added a 4th Tri-Cool case fan to P180B and could certainly do some more things to improve airflow. All fans on "medium".

Hey guys, I'm trying to start listing some cpu cooler upgrades to my P6N thread here:

http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1164174

...if you're not using the stock intel HSF (I see a few different ones in sigs here), could you tell me briefly if it installed without hitches or anything special you had to do to make it fit?

Thanks much!

Spanki - I did a bit of dremel-shaving to one side of the base clip on my ninja, just cause it was too close to the capictors for my comfort level. Sirjonk has the same cooler installed with no issues and no modding.

Sure do, Spanki:
http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/cp...scnj1100p.html

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835185038

Sorry about any confusion about the mod. I wanted to make sure it had zero contact with the capacitors. May not have been necessary but too close for my liking. Probably shaved about .25" off the one edge.

See sig. Up to 2.73gHz. 2.8 (400 FSB) is the goal - looks like a little voltage bumping to at least the NB will be required, perhaps the RAM and CPU (very slight) as well.

system:
Zalman 9700
Antec nine hundred case
e6600 @3.3ghz
msi 650i Platnium
2gb ddr2 800 corsair XMS, it's timed for 4-4-4-12, but seems to be running at 5-5-5-18 under cpuz, anyone help me with this? link a guide for fixing RAM timings?

FSB Clock (in my case, 1467mhz)
Mem Clock (in my case, 800mhz)
CPU ratio (in my case, 9 )

I haven't touched the voltages as I am new to overclocking and it makes me a tad nervous. But I'm pretty happy with 3.3Ghz just fooling around. The nice thing is my idle and load temps didn't raise all but around 5 degrees C, from idle around 33C to load around 50C. From 29C to 45C originally at 2.4 Ghz. Although I do have 7 fans running on my system, 2 front, 1 mid, 1 rear, 1 side, 1 on zalman (all of these 120mms), then a 7th fan of course the 200mm on top of the Antec 900! Woohoo.

Thanks again for the info how to disable and such in order to overclock.
