Default How to get 'cached' craigslist ad?

I was going to respond to an ad on Craigslist today, but it's expired now and I didn't keep the contact info <headsmack>. I tried Google search with cache: searchterm site: mycity.craigslist.org but no luck. Any other ways to get it?

Default How to get 'cached' craigslist ad?

Well I figured out a way - I found the ad with Google search like above and it has the ad # in the URL. So I sent an email to sale-########@craigslist.org. In this case it didn't work because they disabled anonymous email forwarding - in their ad, the email address field read "See Below" for their phone number in the ad. But for posters who don't do that, this should work.

Default Slow method but it works

There is a way that I found that works. If you can find the expired link on google, get the item number from the link. Google will display a little piece of the text of the ad under the link. Take the last significant word (not "and" or "the" u know what I mean) of the ad that google displayed and google that word with the item number and the word craigslist. For example --- "craigslist 123456789 mulcher"

Google with then come up with a little more of the ad on the search page. Continue doing this and you will eventually work through the entire ad. If you are looking for a phone number from the ad and you remember the area code that's easy, just search using the area code --- "craigslist 123456789 312" and google will come up with the rest of the text around the number including the rest of the phone number. Helped me find a number for a great deal on a lawn tractor I was looking for but missed because the ad expired and I neglected to write down the number when I first saw it. Hope this helps!

You could try one of those "Who posted the such and such" listings, at the risk of possibly looking unprofessional if it's a job.
