Default chinese food: which is healthier

I'm in the mood for chinese food but am looking for the meal that'll do the LEAST damage (of course, none of these are really healthy.. I'm not pretending that they are so don't flame me!):

-Boneless spare rib.. You know, the salty red slivers of pork bbq'd - I figure that it's not THAT bad because it's grilled and not fried

-General tso's chicken.. OK, it's deep fried... Is it worse or better than boneless spare ribs though?

-beef lo mein... Probably pretty healthy compared to the other two

-kung pow chicken... Now this seems pretty healthy but there's a lot of oil and peanuts in it..

Kung pao is by far one of the most UNhealthy things at a chinese restaurant.

You probalby want to ask them to make whatever you want with very little or no oil. This means nothing fried.

Agreed with the steamed rice and steamed veggies. Are the boneless spare ribs also steamed? Or am I mistaking that for the spare ribs you can get during dim sum hours..

if he's getting just steamed rice and steamed veggies, whats the point then for ordering chinese food? Can't you just go out to your local grocery store and buy your own veggies for a few dollars?

there's a lot of oil in lo mein too.. I think your best bet is to get what you want and just figure it's not gonna be very good for you.

Damn it! I dunno which is worse, but now I have a hankering for some General Tso's, Beef Lo Mein and Hot & Sour Soup. Oh well, gotta toss in some steamed dumplings and a quart of pork fried rice too, it'll be great for snacking on while watching football all weekend. Off to order....

Starvation. And the fact that the Chinese food we eat isn't even close to what people in China eat. But there isn't a market for chicken feet here in the US, so they needed to invent a brand new style. General Tso's chicken isn't any more authentic Chinese than a Chalupa or anything else from Taco Bell is authentic Mexican.

Most American Chinese food isn't really Chinese food. It's basically KFC'ified pseudo-Chinese food.

Sometimes you'll go into restaurants and see two different menus, with only the good Chinese food on the Chinese menu.

I concur, you'll be surprise on how General Tso chicken is made in China. Heck, I've never even heard of general tso's chicken till I came to the States. LOL
