That is not the problem now. The problem now is that I *can* transfer on one computer but *cannot* transfer when using my other computer. They're both almost identical in every respect.
And as for those ultra violet downloads.......from what I've been reading, it's not just a gratuitous offering. Ultra violet wants to get to know you better. I ain't down with it.
Edit..............adding this to rehash the crux of the problem and clarify that I'm not trying to do anything scantless as someone tried to accuse me of over on apple support:
#1.)* I own the DVD.*
*
#2.)* I rip and size it for iPad legally.* (with software I own)
*
#3.)* On the computer that I did the work (that I own), I cannot drag/drop into my iPad. I get the "cannot be played" message.
*
#4.)* I put the Handbraked movie on a USB drive (again, I own it).* Put it on my laptop (mine) and now I can drag/drop the movie in iTunes, no problem.* I don't even have to import first, I just drag from the desktop right over to my iPad in iTunes and it copies no problem.
*
FWIW, I tried to drag/drop the movie on every device in our household but they all get the same message and no workee.* Yet I can easily drag/drop using my laptop on any device in the house.
