I changed the oil last weekened too. That thing takes 3.4l of oil! I thought it was only going to take 2.... put in 10w40. Since today was the first time I filled it up i put in 89 octane gas. Previously the guy i got it from said use 91(preimum)..... but most people online say 87 should be fine. I'll try 89 for this tank and 87 for the next tank and if i get pinging just move back up...

Just remember, as a new rider you don't want to be doing more than one thing at a time on a bike.
Turning+braking=bad
Slow in, fast out. If you go into a corner too fast you should lean the bike more rather than touch the brakes. Braking mid corner makes the bike want to stand up and go straight not to mention the fact that if all your available grip is being used to corner that it can't be used for braking at the same time.
Hope you put motorcycle specific oil in your bike. Some car oils have additives that aren't good for motorcycles with wet clutches, which I'm pretty sure yours has.
Mirrors on motorcycles generally suck. They vibrate a lot and aren't good for much more than viewing your elbows. Sport bikes are the worst.
