Thanks.
So the game's broken? If that's the case, why are we having this long discussion?

I played in dx11 after the latest patches with high phsx and had no problems. The benchmark always has artificially low minimums.

Whatever...believe whatever bs you think exists. The game is fine after the patches for me. Before the patches it was terrible. Again I am running sli and no vsync. Sli also dedicated the second GPU for physx which can have an effect on the performance.

The fact is the game runs better than the benchmark indicates.

the game has been greatly improved but some hitching still occurs and that is a fact not an opinion. even the nvidia intro when getting to the game is still a little bit stuttery. keep living in your fantasy land where the game runs 100% stutter free though.

Just because you have issues doesn't mean it is universal across all hardware and driver configurations.

The issue mentioned here was minimums from the timedemo which I know for sure are lower than the game while playing.

Not to beat this point into the ground but saying there is no stutter, when this is a very widely known issue that affects practically everyone sounds a bit disingenuous. Maybe you're doing something different, I dunno - I haven't tried dedicated physx - which it sounds like you're using - but for normal setups DX-11 + physx = hitches while panning the camera with the mouse. Its a widely reported issue on the rocksteady and steam forums and the universal response is to a) revert to dx9 and b) turn physx off. I'd like to think my sig rig would destroy batman: AC but I definitely get the same symptoms while in the city and panning the camera with the mouse. When it fixes itself, it happens again if I grapple to a rooftop far away.

You can google this issue and find 10k+ results for stuttering in DX11/physx. Widely known issue, and basically affects everyone. The game is poorly programmed, period.

maybe he is just oblivious to it. I have had people over here while playing the game and some people dont actually even notice the stuttering even when I point it out.

Honestly I haven't tried a dedicated physx card. Maybe that could have a positive effect for those with SLI - i'll give that a shot next time I play.

I don't know because all the physx is dedicated to one card by default. I don't know how much the physx effects tax the card, but I'd bet not enough for it to make a measurable difference.

I can also confirm that DX11 is "broken". With 670 + 460 1GB as PhysX, all maxed, I got lot of stuttering ingame. I tried lot of combinations (for hours, stupid out of game settings and long intro ) and these are my observations:

1) Dx11 + Physx High - stutterfest (even if I turn down other settings), GPU usage on both cards <50%
2) Dx11 + Physx Medium to Off - Better but still some stuttering
3) Dx9 + Physx High - Finally playable without problems, but in benchmark scene with Iceman I got better Fps with 460 disabled and PhysX run on 670.
This leads me to thinking the is some CPU limitation going on since I have "lowly" i5-760 @ 4.1GHz and with dedicated PhysX card there is probably larger driver overhead and thus more work for CPU.

Overall DX11 feels totally unoptimized, because with Dx9 I get steady 60fps, and if there is some rare hitch it goes to +-50, but Dx11 is constantly dropping to teens. Maybe with IB@5GHz and running of raid0 SSDs it would be better but I'm not entirelly convinced. Will test in a month or so when I upgrade mobo+CPU.

So my final settings are: Dx9, everything maxed, 8xAA and High Physx and I'm enjoying smooth gameplay using only 670.

Is it really that bad with a single card? I never tried it that way. Is running off the 670 no better?
