Default fastfay.sys missing or corrupted

hello all. my friend's xp box says mission or corrupt fastfat.sys everytime he boots his computer. anyone know whats going on or know anything about this file?
the file is located in cwindows\system32\drivers\fastfat.sys.
ill get the exact error down if my friend gets it to me.

There's a chance thats to do with a raid card maybe promise fastrak or something.

Insert Xp cd and select repair and remember to press F6 to load and install the raid or scsi controller, a floppy disk would of came with the controller card.

Select automatic repair and it should be fine.
