Maybe I'll pick one of these up instead of researching the Sony Bloggie Sport.

You put the camera in an included case, and you mount the case on your car, helmet, chest harness, etc. The elements should not be an issue, although I think my Hero 2's case was just water and splash resistant, not water proof.
EDIT: Just received mine, the standard case appears to be waterproof up to 60m.

The only concern you should have with mud is that it won't automatically clear from the lens like water will. Even with a liberal coat of Rain-X you will have to constantly wipe it clean manually.

Do you use Gopro Hero3 Black Edition?
Hello, if you use Gopro Hero3 Black Edition I'd like to know a thing only:
What difference about video quality between Gopro Hero3 Black Edition and a normal HD videocamera for example a Sony cx730? I cannot see video on Internet because they look different. I'd like to listen news for people who are using bot, Hero3 Black Edition and Sony cx730.
Thanks

Anybody having issues like the 1-star reviews on Amazon for the Black Edition? I know to take the reviews with a grain of salt, but it's still a bit disconcerting at this price point.

I haven't picked up the GoPro3 yet but I intend on it. From the reviews I have read the earlier batches were plagued with more problems. That is probably why they had trouble trickling them out early on and everyone was out of stock.
Newer review dates that I read seem to be more satisfied with the hardware and software.

Is it possible to attach an external microphone to it or does it require a new housing?

I'm not talking about the waterproof housing obviously. I have a GoPro Hero2 camera and you can't use an external microphone even if you don't use the waterproof door.
You have to make a hole on the side of the housing or buy another one that has an opening on the left side of the camera. But the skeleton housing isn't included with the camera. You have to buy it separately.
