i saw an article that said his injuries will prevent him from driving single-seaters again. so that's confirmation, as if f1 would take him back after 2 years.

So, I presume HRT is out for 2013, with the application deadline having been yesterday, and no news of anyone saving them having appeared.
Well, they never really had the funds to do anything anyway, so far...

vettel is indeed 3-time champion, red bull is 3-time constructor's champion, and hrt is indeed gone. this year has been a roller coaster with plenty of greatness and not-so-greatness. thanks for playing along, and we'll be back here for the 2013 season soon enough. i'd like finish strong with this highlight film from the bbc:

Alonso voted driver of the year.
Quote:
Dec 13 (Reuters) - Formula One team principals have voted Ferrari's Fernando Alonso their driver of the year, despite Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel becoming the sport's youngest triple world champion at 25.
A poll of all the team heads carried out by Britain's Autosport magazine, with each asked to list their top 10 and award points according to grand prix scoring, placed Alonso first with 269 and Vettel second on 198.

No kamui? What! He had a podium finish this year. Can't say that about the other bottom pack people.

Yeah. His fans raised a lot of money for him to get a drive too.

have you ever wanted to see santa claus in a wind tunnel?
http://www.sauberf1team.com/en/news....Happy_New_Year
Hinwil, 18 December 2012 – He’s the fastest man in the world, capable of orbiting the earth in a single day. What’s his secret? Triple DRS, a flexible front wing, double COANDA? We wanted to get to the bottom of it and put him through some rigorous testing, not least in the wind tunnel. The results were both astonishing and heartening. Some of his innovative systems are already wrapped up and tucked under the Christmas tree. We’ll be fitting them into the Sauber C32-Ferrari before the first test in Jerez on 5 February. Rivals beware!

Car Trekking: When Patrick Stewart met Stirling Moss
RACING LEGENDS
Date: Thursday 27 December, 20:00 GMT
Coverage: BBC Two
Quote:
Former Captain of the USS Enterprise and renowned Shakespearian actor, Sir Patrick Stewart tells the enthralling story of Sir Stirling Moss's glittering race career.
The pair travel to Florence in a classic Mercedes to retrace the route of Italy's most famous road race - the Mille Miglia - and discuss how Stirling's near-fatal crash may have been the best thing that ever happened to him.
But how will Sir Patrick cope when he drives a 1957 Formula 1 car at the scene of Stirling's historic British Grand Prix victory?
