LG 42LV3500 screen won't display.
This TV is only 15 months old... 3 months out of warranty.
Anyways it was working yesterday, it had my computer's desktop background. Then the image just disappeared. It looks like some back lighting is working, as the screen lights up ever so slightly when on, but only as black.
Audio from my PC will still work through the hdmi cable.
I can't view any of the menus, so definitely just display and independant of my video card/hdmi cable.
Could this be the lamps?
I bought this sucker for $600 Sept 2011. And I don't really have funds to replace it outright.
So if any TV guru's know, or can point me in the right direction. I am really hoping I can fix it for $100-$200, if not, I think I will just see if I can sell it on Craigslist for $100 despite the image not being there.

If you shine a flashlight at the screen with it "on" can you see anything?

That would be a no.
Must mean I am blind... j/k
But in all seriousness, no, all I see is the light reflecting off of black. I tried using stuff on my pc to move stuff around on the screen and I didn't see anything.

Could this be the LED driver unit causing this issue?
I found a replacement.

$42 doesn't sound like a bad price. How hard would that be to install?
