Kind of like doctors. No useful service at all. They just hurt people, nothing else. Oh wait, doctors aren't a target of the nutjob right like unions are, so they don't say that.

It's pretty brutal to cut job salaries from $40,000+ to $25,000 in the span of six years. Take a company of 16,000 middle class jobs and make them lower class jobs? I can see why they would just want to burn it.

From what I've heard, the bakers were unskilled workers. The machines basically run themselves and just need people to clean them and "push the button that makes it go."

Yes. I know, this is a generalization and over-simplification. Still, it's hard to believe they would have been paid $40k to begin with.

They shouldn't be making anywhere near $40k for unskilled labor. My first job, I was making 45k doing some highly technical consulting for fortune 500 companies while living in California.

It's stupid to pay someone 40k with benefits for unskilled labor. $25k is more like it. I'd say $20k is about what an unskilled laborer should make in this country.

This isn't 1940. We have international competition now. These unions are competing against $2/day workers - not the executives.

Remember hearing about jobs like paperboy? Getting 2 cents for each paper you delivered or some shit? hah. Naw, we need 40k+ to be working in the AC pushing a button occasionally.

And I want my god damn 4 coffee breaks!

You got to be kidding me. This blogger was making $48k with benefits baking food. F unions. They are taking our country down. Make $48k/year in a low cost of living state while baking food and pressing buttons/cleaning machines? Get out of here.

Looks like the idiots are coming to their senses... but maybe too little too late...

Hostess Brands Inc, its lenders and the unions representing its striking workers, agreed to start mediation hearings on Tuesday at the urging of a U.S. bankruptcy court judge.
A hearing on Monday during which the bankrupt maker of Twinkies snack cakes and Wonder Bread was set to ask for permission to liquidate was quickly adjourned until Wednesday after the judge urged the parties to mediate in private.
The mediation will begin on Tuesday.
