Are you in your 10s then? Seriously, the abbreviation of every two words is annoying.
Go look at people spending HOURS on Smartphones with their necks at right angle with the body and talk to us again about ergonomics.
Desktop markets are getting smaller because people refuse to upgrade them, not because its not required. Naturally that means companies that make them will go to where more money is, like in more portable devices.

The Surface/Surface Pro are priced competitively versus competitors.

We have laptops with a dock at my office... this is pretty common as it lets you bring your work home easily.

just saying
-I walk in to offices every day in high end office space and only see a few co. provided laptops , maybe for the managers but not for the bulk of the office staff.
-maybe some IT guys from 200-400 employee offices can chime in with the mix.

Desktops can do the same thing to people without ergonomic furniture and proper setup of the area.

Exactly right. In a few years, say around when the iPad '6' hits the market I can see where you would just plug a Thunderbolt cable into your iPad, and have your whole desktop set up and ready to go. Not enough power for gamers or other high end uses. But plenty of power for the vast majority of users.
