Box.com Free 50 GB Cloud
Don't know if this counts as a hot deal, but box.com is giving out 50 GB space for free. The caveat is 250 MB single file size limit but afaik all the major cloud services have such limits. If you happen to have lots of small files that are not very sensitive it's an OK deal I suppose.

It won't accept my custom email address at e4ward to sign up. They also require you give them your phone number.
Edit: I suppose they don't want you to create multiple accounts with disposable addressees.
How is Box compared to Drop box besides then bigger storage? Does it have a Linux client? Is it integrated I many apps? Drop box seemed to be the gold standard and is supported by many many apps.

250 is a little better. they used to offer 50gb free but castrated it with 100mb max uploads

Well, I'm the one who posted the OP, but have a question for any Box.com/Box.net user (didn't know they're the same): Can you get around the 250 MB file size limit by installing desktop client? I know it's possible with some clients such as Google Drive.

I was thinking the same thing.
If we were to use this to back up pictures, what might be the most secure way of leaving personal photos in the cloud?

The problem with that is the 10 GB monthly transfer limit. If you ever needed to restore all the pictures from the cloud drive once you fill it up, you're gonna have problems with the share links.
