23" or bigger gaming monitor

I am in the market for a new monitor. Since I'm gonna game a lot, including online FPS games (and I'm very competitive in them!), I need something without ghosting or high input lag. I also like pretty colors (although now I've an LCD made, maybe, in 2007, but I also dislike the colors) and of course contrast for reading, because I read a lot (and write too!).

Any suggestions for a price range of... Up to $300 would be nice!
