Can my system support Radeon HD 6870

Hey guyz. I just happen to stumble upon a free Powercolor Radeon HD 6870(http://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-Dis...owercolor+6870). Do you think this new GPU will be compatible with my current system? Thanks!

My current system is:

6870 is really that much faster than a 5830?

6870 isn't that much of an upgrade over 5830. 5830 is halfway between 5770 and 5850. Anandtech bench doesn't have 5830, but 6850 vs 5770 should give you some idea: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/538?vs=539

Why do you want to get a last gen card anyway? I would get at least 7850 2GB coming from what you have

He got it for FREE! You can't get much better than free. Although, if you aren't adverse to spending a little money, you could sell it and grab something like a 2GB 7850.

If we go by Amazon pricing, you could sell the 6870 for around $150 used and then you can get a 2GB MSI Twinfrozr 7850 for only $30 out-of-pocket. If you sell the 5830 too, it will basically cost you less than nothing.

Uh right. Missed that part :x. I think selling both the 5830 and the 6870 and going for a 7850 2GB would be a good idea.

I dunno, +20-50% performance for free sounds pretty good to me.

Oh, and it lets you get rid of the dustbuster known as the 5830. Remember that the 5830s were harvested 5870 chips with midrange cooling slapped on.
