Alright, I'm finally in. I saw the deal for the Aurora LX Advanced Starter Pack and figured I had some disposable income to burn. I also felt really guilty having funded Shroud of the Avatar before I funded S42, even though I'm a golden ticket holder.

All I can say is great minds think alike SunnyD, I had the same thought about Shroud of the Avatar. I'm going in for the same package as you shortly.
Pledged.
......any idea what system specs will be, I've been looking a video cards. I know it's early just a reasonable guess.

As far as S42? All I know is it uses one of the CryTek engines, and it uses recursive detail (meaning that no matter where you are the potential for EVERYTHING to get rendered - including every ship that you see, their interior, etc, gets rendered).
I'd be targeting whatever current gen high end video card is. GTX670, 680, Radeon 7950/7970. No reason not to be running 16gb ram. Quad core i5 or i7.
By the way, anyone else also considering - TODAY MIDNIGHT is when the LX sale ends.
Edit: Also, don't forget to enter THIS CONTEST if you back anytime before now and when they hit $10m

I thought the game wasn't slated for release until late 2014 early 2015? I could be wrong.

Yeah I think we are a few years away if I remember correctly.
However, I do think he said he was going to release something this summer where you could walk around the hanger and maybe inside some of the ships.

if you backed both shroud of the avatar (at the $40 level or higher) and star citizen, you get a special crossbow to use in star citizen. annouced here, follow-up clarification here. they'll link your accounts, assuming you used the same e-mail for both games.
also, go into your account (link at the top of the rsi homepage) and enter my handle (Cyco-Dude) into the referral box. i don't get anything; the referral contest ended months ago but you might get 250 extra in-game credits when the game goes live. worth a shot anyway.

Thanks Cyco, I hope you get a bone for it. There is no shame in referral credits in my opinion.

It's amazing how many space sims are listed on gaming sites (gamespot) with GREAT ratings, but most of them are barely known.
One of my fav. genres ever since I played Elite (approx 900 years back on my C64) and later on Frontier and other similar games.
When I read that this game will support Oculus Rift too I actually peed my pants.

just in case you don't know, the guy that made elite is at it again with a new game, elite: dangerous. there seems to be more updates on their kickstarter update page too.

It was in a package from China, I didn't think I ordered a cheap watch or more flashlights...

Does anyone know if the metal cards are shipping yet, or just the plastic ones?

Mine was plastic so not sure. Even for plastic it looks pretty neat. I wish at times I'd gotten the metal one, I bet that's gonna look fantastic in person.
