I bought one of these right before christmas, dell had them on sale for $999. The monitor is absolutely fantastic but you really will need an adjustment period. I went from a 2405FPW (24" dell lcd) to this, but the heat it puts out as well as the sheer mass of the screen size is insane. It is incredibly tall unlike a widescreen 27" would be. Great for gaming, but you'd better have a high end card to fill all those pixels! I'd certainly buy it again, no issues at all with mine. I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for it though

Oh, and I've also read reviews that Dell has been known to give people a hard time on any warranty/repair if it wasn't purchased directly from Dell. Totally rumor mill, I haven't experienced it myself nor have I had to have one repaired, just something to consider/research FYI
