That's normally all it takes for me too, since they ship from nj and I'm in ny. For some reason this time they shipped it to mass in the middle to transfer it to usps.

I just got mine today and compared them with the cheap skull candys I have and I think these actually sound worse. It's there a such thing as an earbud with decent bass response? They all sound like I'm listening through a tin can. I had an old pair that came with a gen 2 iPod that were really good, but since then every pair I have bought has had very limited bass.

Fit to the ear is important, but not sufficient for those with a desire for bass boosted far above normal. Use a tone control or EQ, or buy the cheap inaccurate phones with bass boost built in.

I'm not even looking for far above normal, I just want a full tone, not just midrange and treble which most ear buds I've tried sound like. Maybe I need to look for larger buds, the last few sets I have bought were all small like these. I remember the ipod set I liked were bigger.

What's the basic difference between the CX150 and 200?

Hmmm, I get decent bass out of my set, IF I drive them loud enough. At low volume, the bass drops out, but this is true of most buds in this price range.

I don't know, I tried to like them. I listened to them for about an hour tonight, and I don't like them. I'm not really that picky either, but to me these buds don't sound as full as the $16 Skull Candy Ink'd 2 set that I have.
It's weird, because they both have the same frequency response, here are the specs on the ink'd:
Speaker Diameter: 11mm
Magnet Type: NdFeB
Frequency Response: 20-20k Hz
Impedance: 16 ohms
Max Input Power: 100mW
Cable Type: TPE, Nylon Braided
Cable Length: 1.3m
Plug Type: 3.5mm Gold Plated
I can't find detailed info (other than frequency response) on the cx150's, so I don't know why they sound so different, but to me it's a big difference. They sound very metallic and there are a lot of highs, and not much low frequencies at all, both during music and movies. The Skull Candy's have this thing called "Attacking Bass", so maybe that is the boost that makes the difference.
The cx150's are a lot more comfortable though, and quite a bit smaller. Not a waste of money though, my wife loves them because they are so comfortable. I guess I'll stick with the SC's until I can find something better. Oh well, at least I didn't dump $60 to find out I didn't like them.

Too bad you had a bad experience. I trialed many different formats including original CD's, and high bitrate files.
I demo'd many high quality albums from Blue Note Jazz series, exquisitely recorded, to gold series CD releases like Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here.
The earbuds were full, balanced, and very clear throughout the audible range. Bass was not artifiicially accentuated but tight, accurate and deep where it was intended. Midrange was full and vocals sounded natural. (Sic) Alecia Keys beautiful vocals and piano.
All in all, if you eliminate the cheap MP3 tracks, and work these through some serious soundtracks and do some critical listening, you'll find that they'll far exceed what you can get for around $80-$125.
Defiinitely represents the Sennheiser quality brand.
Maybe you got a bad pair?

With all the great reviews, I wonder if this what happened. Either that or they don't fit my ears right, so they aren't projecting the sound correctly. There was a review on new egg from someone who had this issue. I'll try the different earpiece sizes to see if it makes a difference.

I think its best to keep your phones neutral and leave the boost to the player where you can turn it off for music that boost makes worse.
