Default Hybrid SSD-Hardrive as External HDD
If i buy Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB 2.5 Inch Solid State Hybrid Drive ST95005620AS ,for my current , old laptop, can it be used as an external harddrive later once my laptop dies?

Yes, not a problem.

Can be used USB 2.0, USB 3.0, Firewire, eSata or Thunderbolt, depending on the enclosure, without issue.

Thanks All, for the replies. Any recommendation for enclosures? I use UBUNTU so thunderbolt probably not needed. Looking to future at USB 3.0.

They're all basically the same. A laptop hd isn't going to put out a lot of heat, so cooling isn't an issue like it might be with a larger multi drive enclosure.
