Since the announcement of the C7, the prices of C6's has continued to surprise many. I'm shocked to see the pricing on many of the C6Z's out there. Has me tempted to grab one 'cause.

some of that is your friends, not the car. I agree, they can be tinkered with indefinitely and have quirks, but they can also be setup to be left alone. some of the fun of owning an evo (or any boosted car for the most part) is continually messing with it.

And having Mits hunt down your posts in forums and FB etc and voiding your warranty cause you tracked your car.
While companies like BMW, Corvette and other encourage you to track your vehicle. I love the Evo's, but I'll never own one due to the antics of the company in the past.

I have owned a lot of makes and I have never had good warranty experience from any of them... so IMHO that is par for the course. If I ever buy a car, save for appliance type daily, I put almost no weight in the warranty. With the evos, I think it comes down to a bit more than just tracking the car. My current car was tracked by the previous owner and he had two trans put in under warranty. with evos, you see a lot of garbage done to them and then people expect the dealer to warranty. Heck a local guy that sells mitsus had his motor blow.... claimed he was at cruise and the car was 'stock".. he had exhaust, retuned the car for more boost and misshitted and over reved it (had ecu proof of the over rev)... but he came out badmouthing the dealer for denying a warranty claim on the motor. There is always a good guy getting the shaft by the dealer, but to say you wouldn't own one of the best handling, capable cars ever produced because of fear of warranty issues is just stupid.
evos are so easy to make power with it is ridiculous, but a complete different animal than a vette. They aren't for everyone.

No, you misunderstand. It's the philosophy of the Company that I disagree with. To put out an awesome track happy car, yet not support the owners (just the opposite) is just plain wrong. They should have looked at their neighbor Mazda....who are happy to see their cars on tracks and put up lots of cash to owners too!

Nah, already own an ex NASA instructor track setup '95 M3 as my DD, and a Z06. No need. 50/50 weight distribution, it is impeccably balanced, incredible brakes, and nice NA power..212K and its still ripping!

Sat in a ZR1 today and it's... different. Probably the first car I've ever seen where you have to push a button to open the door. I can appreciate why people like them but I'm not a huge fan of the body style, or Chev in general. I'd prefer something like ATG's legendary BMW M3 or a Ford Shelby GT 500.
To answer the question of whether I'd buy it. Definitely not. Heck I can't even buy any car I've mentioned.
