But does it change the game? The problem isn't the hardware this time around, it's the OS.
Can you imagine if Windows 8 was on hardware like this?

Wow, a 10 inch tablet under 500 grams. That's impressive. But I hope this comes out sooner rather than later, because after the Tegra 4 tablets come out, everything else will look like dog food.

I think Tegra 4 will compete well with Snapdragon S4 Pro (now 400), but we've got Snapdragon 600 likely to be announced in many phones at MWC and S800 in many phones in 2H 2013.
nVidia has a lot it has to compete with in Qualcomm.

Granted it was Nvidia's test, but the Tegra 4 looked like it can handily spanked the Exynos quad A15 (in the Nexus 10) in performance.

As far as Qualcomm, they'll be running last-gen CPU. Upclocking can only do so much.
Anyway, it looks like a fine device (IMO waterproofing is a *lot* more useful on this), but a 10+" tablet that's not convertible is useless at this point.

I don't think it would be more expensive. ASUS has the ME400 10.1 inch 64GB tablet coming soon for $500. So Windows 8 tablets will soon be as affordable as premium Android tablets.
But yeah, the resolutions and apps is the bummer. I could excuse the apps, because with a Windows 8 tablet you can run x86 desktop apps too. But the 1366x768 is kinda of a bummer for Windows 8.
We probably won't see hardware quite like this for Windows 8 until Bay Trail comes out at the end of the year or next year, a better Atom processor that will have a hopefully much improved GPU to handle higher resolutions.

I doubt nVidia or anyone outside of Samsung know how Exynos 5 Quad would perform. I can see. Exynos 5250 was TDP limited in the Nexus 10 cause it was still on 32nm.
We'll have to see how Exynos 54xx does since they will both be A15 based and be on 28nm, I can see the CPU portions trading blows, although we will have to see how well Samsung can use the A7 cores to boost performance.
On the GPU, Tegra 4 looks like a beast.

It seems they're extending the 'Z' series moniker to other product areas. I'm a big fan of the Vaio Z Series, and the Xperia Z phone looks rather interesting too. I'm happy to see that they've extended this design to the tablet market.

Battery size seems kind of small for 10" tablet. Also I don't see any mention of HDMI out. Other than that it looks nice and almost has everything I asked for. But I'm going to wait for Samsung Note 10.1 refresh. I want it all including the S-Pen.

That's primarily what I'm looking forward to. GPU performance on Android tablets have lagged badly. The Tegra 4 looks like it should be quite a nice boost to run these full HD displays.
