Hey all, I had a problem two weeks ago when Windows failed to start. It tried to do repairs but could not. I then reinstalled Windows and it was fine for two weeks until I restarted my computer today. Windows would not start today and launched Windows Repair. It is now "Repairing Disc Errors" as of right now.
I am starting to think that this is a hard drive issue since I don't believe it is a virus - but it could be. I am thinking of installing a new hard drive and using the existing hard drive as a secondary drive to get back the files.
Sounds like it could be. Event viewer should have some indicators. Run a chkdsk offline and see what it says. What your seeing could be virus too though. Test hardware first. Regardless, make sure your files are backed up externally.
